Greatest Schadenfreude Moment Ever

Normally, I think schadenfreude (taking pleasure in the misfortune of others) is not a good thing to indulge in.  Makes you weak — you want to feel good about yourself?  Buckle up, work hard and excel.   Don’t get your jollies off other people’s bad luck, no matter how bad you perceive them to be.   But — In the case of Tuesday’s presidential election, I’m willing to make an exception.

Yes, I am enjoying the fact that every racist jerk is PO’d about the election of Barack Obama.  Yes, I am enjoying the fact that all those horrible, hated filled people who showed up at John and Sarah’s campaign rallies, shouting out such horrible things, are now bitterly disappointed.  Yes, I am glad that the far right wing media, who have bloviated for years about the character weaknesses of liberals, are now also bitterly disappointed.  You all really believed the concept of a permanent republican majority and that liberals could be crushed into the ground, didn’t you?  Well, it’s not happening.

Go ahead and whine about the liberal media not exposing the “full truth” about Barack Obama and how we who supported him were led around like obedient sheep.  Fact is Reverend Wright, William Ayers and all the other anti-Obama trash talk got plenty of coverage.  Fact is most everybody knew about it and most people thought it was stupid and didn’t care.
