Maybe there is some common ground between libs & cons afterall. You’d never know it listening to/watching hate talk. I give credit to George Will(and to the late William F. Buckley, Jr.) for speaking their minds even if it might anger other righties. And you have to give me credit for angering “over the top” liberals who hate all conservatives. If Fox News can be fair and balanced, so can I.*
Is there no end of stupid news stories? Approximately 65% of the NFL players are african-american and Rush and his gang are enraged that the NFL doesn’t want him in their club. And for the record, there has been little evidence over the years to suggest that NFL owners are a bunch of flaming liberals.
This is a guy who once said: “Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?” and many other stupid, racist things? At least Balloon Boy story this week appears to be non-political. Too bad they can’t fire Rush and give Balloon Boy his own show.

Teachers – enjoy your day off. You deserve it. When I used to sub teach, it meant a day with no pay. BTW, the reason so many school districts advertise constantly for sub teachers is because after they hire them, they treat them like Joe McCarthy treated Hollywood directors and screenwriters back in the early 1950s. While many work days were fine, this white Anglo-Saxon male never knew what it was like to be in a discriminated minority group until he became a sub. Bottom of the barrel. Most teachers seem to be dedicated – can’t say the same for many of the school administrators.
Considering the Bush/Cheney/GOP Iraq War concept of liberation by death, this old time satirical favorite of mine from Randy Newman comes close to being realistic foreign policy for some of our more extreme right of wing friends. This is one of many great songs where Randy employs the unreliable narrator technique.
This one first came to my attention back when I was a volunteer DJ at my college radio station. Being in college and not geting paid, I could play anything I wanted. A few years later I would be a “radio pro” and limited to a super strict music playlist(“ahhh, not the Bee Gees again!!!). So were the days. And this song is as timely now as it was then. Maybe more so.
Sorry, these people are just plain nuts. They scream patriotism, but because of their pathological hatred of Obama, they root against the U.S. getting the Olympics. I’m sorry, but anyone inclined to be against the president addressing children on the 1st day of school, anyone who compares the president to Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, etc. and anyone who would be against him going to bat for a U.S. city to get the Olympics —– they are (a) a sore loser and (b) acting like a big baby. Throw in some racism and you’ve got one really messed up dittohead. Barack Obama is (half) black and better educated than most of us(#1 in his class/Yale Law School). If that makes you feel bad about yourself, deal with it.
